Well… this place has it’s high points and it’s low points.
good bread pudding, not the best. But good. Senate has the best bread pudding….
It tastes like a sweet, bready sponge. If you’re into that kind of thing.
calamari – I’ve never had calamari that wasn’t breaded. So this was a surprise. Their calamari isn’t breaded and is served in a tomato based spicy Arribiatta sauce. MMM!
Mozzarella in Carozza – pretty tasty appetizer. Cheesy, bready deliciousness.
Lobster and Crab Ravioli – I really liked this one. It by no means was the best Lobster/Crab ravioli, but it was pretty good.
Cannelloni Piedmont Style – Pat had this and he thought it was just okay.
wine in a bucket gamble – they have 5 bottles of wine in a bucket (when I went it was a Dora the Explorer trashcan) you pick one and they’re all $25. Could be a $50 bottle, could be a $10 bottle of Beringer which is as close to urine as I’ve ever had. Don’t ask me how I can compare.
decor – I hesitate to say it was hideous but it just seemed like they try too hard to get that “homestyle Italian feel”. I know plenty of Italians that can afford matching plates and know how to match paint to fabric.
Overall the staff seemed pretty pleased with themselves and weren’t very accommodating. I’d rather go to Pompilio’s…
